From humble beginnings in 1973, IAM has been dedicated to fostering a strong sense of community and identity among those of Indian origin. And now, it's time to party and we want YOU to be a part of the festivities! Join us on April 15 at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel, Bloomington, for a night of food, fun, and festivity. Let's toast to the past and look towards a bright and exciting future together!
A Look Back at the Past
Since its inception in 1973, IAM has worked hard to fulfill its mission of Charity, Culture, and Connections and has worked to promote the beauty of Indian culture in Minnesota.
Being an umbrella organization, IAM has connected Indians and Indian organizations throughout Minnesota. It’s currently working to connect various other groups such as AAPI groups with the Indian community.
With it being 50 years, IAM hopes to celebrate all the memories that it’s had since its beginning. So, join us, as we take a look back at our 50 years but also move towards the future and continue our mission.
A Glimpse into the Gala
When you come to our gala, our hope is that you’ll go “Wow,” and look forward to a great night! Get the party started at our Welcome Reception – mingle, meet new people, and get ready for an awesome night ahead! Start by collecting a souvenir bag and drink coupon; then relax to some music from our DJ. Feel free to walk around and socialize for a bit before we get totally settled in. There will be raffle prizes so if you’re interested, make sure to sign up. Finally, grab a drink and meet some new people!
As the music winds down, we’ll start our program for the night. Enjoy lots of videos, photos, and appearances from past and present board members. Reminisce with the memories that IAM has made and get those nostalgic feelings. It’s been 50 years! Get excited!
Our carefully curated lineup of events
While there’s always time for reminiscing, this is a moment of celebration! So, what better way to celebrate than to show off our beautiful Indian culture? The night will start to get even more exciting with Bhangra performances from our friends at Bhangra Thrills!
Brace yourself for our inspiring and thought-provoking speakers Nirav Sheth and Amit Patel, who will leave you feeling motivated and energized. Patel will elaborate on the true value of community and connection and Sheth will enlighten us on “Positive Intelligence,” a proven system to improve happiness, relationships and performance.
As we start getting our food and eating dinner, we’ll have a wonderful fashion show put on by Arquette Talents. Watch for awesome dresses and more. Maybe an intern or two will be walking the runway; who knows?! Make sure to watch out for our Odissi performers as well! Our friends over at Uthkalaa are excited to give you a performance that you won’t forget.
Wrapping up dinner, we’ll move into our awards ceremony. Now is the time to celebrate the great achievements of some of our outstanding members. We’ll then announce raffle winners, and finally, close out our amazing 50th gala with dancing!
